Three Weddings at Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Tower

McDonald’s burgers in a chafing dish. A beautiful gown needing a quick save. A speaker delivery quietly routed through the kitchen.

Three weddings, and stories you won’t find on a venue website.

I’ve planned celebrations here for Emily and Matt, Sammi and Josh, and Dan and George. Each wedding had its own personality. What connected them was a beautiful downtown setting and people willing to help make the evening run well.

Step Inside the St. Clair Ballroom

Before we get into the wedding stories, take a look around the St. Clair Ballroom through the 3D virtual tour below. Explore the room and imagine how your own celebration could come together here.

This virtual tour features the St. Clair Ballroom. The Marriott’s Grand Ballroom is a separate event space.

Two Ballrooms, Two Different Experiences

Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Tower puts you close to Public Square, with wonderful downtown locations for portraits and the convenience of guest rooms near the celebration.

The St. Clair Ballroom, on the fourth floor, offers sweeping city and Lake Erie views. Its windows bring beautiful light into the room by day and a sparkling downtown backdrop after dark. Dan and George celebrated here.

The Marriott’s Grand Ballroom offers a larger setting for bigger guest lists. Emily and Matt, and Sammi and Josh, chose this space for their weddings.

Traditional or modern? Both ballrooms lend themselves to classic elegance or contemporary design. Florals, candlelight, color, and personal details help make the room your own.

Dan and George: Teamwork Behind the Scenes

During Dan and George’s St. Clair Ballroom celebration, we needed replacement speakers delivered, and quickly.

Cal, a longtime member of the Marriott team, personally guided our vendor through the kitchen and back hallways so the delivery wouldn’t interrupt the party.

Guests never knew.

That’s the kind of teamwork I remember. While the couple and their guests kept celebrating, we had people behind the scenes helping solve the problem.

The views are a reason to love this room. Moments like that are a reason I value the team.

Emily and Matt: Late-Night Burgers

Emily and Matt’s Grand Ballroom wedding gave me one of my favorite late-night memories.

As the party rolled on, I slipped out and returned with McDonald’s burgers and fries. We served them in a chafing dish, and the guests loved it. Emily and Matt were thrilled!

A grand ballroom wedding can still have a playful side. After hours of celebrating, a familiar favorite was just the right surprise.

Janet’s Insider Tip: Consider a late-night snack that feels like you. Coordinate outside-food permissions, delivery, and service with the venue in advance so it arrives at the right moment.

Sammi and Josh: A Beautiful Gown and a Quick Save

Sammi’s dress and veil were stunning, and we captured beautiful pictures both inside and outside during her wedding with Josh.

Their Grand Ballroom celebration also gave me a moment I’ll never forget.

The mother of the bride caught her gown in the escalator, leaving grease on the fabric. I grabbed my emergency kit, worked on the stain, and got the grease out. She was back to enjoying her daughter’s wedding.

That’s why my emergency kit comes to every wedding. Having the right supplies, and someone ready to help, can make a difference in a moment that matters.

Explore Marriott’s Grand Ballroom

Take a look at the Marriott’s Grand Ballroom through the 3D virtual tour below. Explore every area, the room and imagine how your own celebration could come together here.

What to Know Before You Book

The two ballrooms have different event arrangements. SAVOUR Hospitality, the group behind Marble Room, handles St. Clair’s catering and bar, while the Marriott team handles the Grand Ballroom and hotel arrangements.

I help coordinate the reception, guest rooms, vendors, and timeline so everyone understands how the pieces fit together.

When comparing the spaces, confirm the capacity for your actual reception layout. Your tables, dance floor, entertainment, and other design elements all affect how the room will work for your guest list.

During your tour, ask about package inclusions, room-block terms, parking, vendor access, and setup times. Both ballrooms provide indoor celebration spaces; we’ll also plan a weather alternative if you want outdoor portraits.

My Final Take

Emily and Matt’s late-night burgers. Sammi and Josh’s beautiful celebration and a quick gown rescue. Dan and George’s speaker delivery that happened quietly behind the scenes.

Three weddings, two ballrooms, and thoughtful planning backed by a team willing to help.

That’s what I appreciate about celebrating here: the setting gives you elegance and convenience, while personal details and attentive planning shape the experience.
